New Video Belies Police Claims of "Accidentally" Running Over US Embassy Protestors In Manila

New video footage which starts seconds before a police vehicle run over US embassy protestors in Manila belie earlier claims made by the PNP that protestors were not deliberately run over.

In the 42 second clip uploaded by Mon Ramirez on Facebook from Kodao Productions, the police vehicle was not being tipped over by protestors nor was it being surrounded as earlier claimed. 

Ramirez' explanation accompanying the video says:

Tignan niyo ang nakaparked na police mobile at subaybayan ang kilos nito. 

Mas malinaw ang context ng atras-abanteng pagbubundol, pagsasagasa ng police mobile sa video clip na ito na 42 seconds lang. Extracted ito mula sa 2.37 minute na kuha ng Kodao Productions. Salamat, Kodao! 

Makikita sa video na nakapark ang mobile at sadyang pinaatas, pinaabante sa mismong hanay ng mga nagrarali. Pinapakita ng video na walang batayan ang claim ng police na under threat of vandalism or worse ang mobile. Sabi sa report: 

He also defended the driver of the police vehicle, saying he only wanted to prevent the vehicle from being vandalized. 

"Walang intensyon managasa ang driver. Natakot siya sa dami ng raliyista kaya iniwas lang niya [ang] sasakyan. Gusto lang niya tanggalin ang mobile dahil bukod sa na-vandalize, ay sinisira na nila," Pedrozo said.

Translation:  

Observe the parked police vehicle and watch its movement. 

This 42 second footage provides a much clearer context to how the vehicle ran over people. This was extracted from the 2:37 minute video from Kodao Productions. Thanks, Kodao. 

You will see in the video that the police vehicle was parked and deliberately backed up before being driven forward into the people who were rallying. This clearly shows that the police have no basis for saying that their police vehicle was under threat of vandalism.
